Position Overview

As part of Autodesk’s People & Places (PPL) organization, the PPL Communications team is on a mission to connect us globally through inspiring and engaging storytelling that shape our culture, business, and world.

 

We are seeking a Senior Manager, HR Communications to manage a team of four, ensuring communications excellence for all PPL program launches to the enterprise. You will be the contact and conduit within PPL for the Crisis Management Team, Legal and Government Affairs teams to help craft communication response to crises, emerging issues, and unexpected challenges, and will oversee the internal communications platform for the Chief People Officer.

 

You will report to our Senior Director, Employee Communications, and this role can be 100% remote in EMEA, the U.S., or Canada.

 

Responsibilities

Lead the HR communications vision, strategy, and team:

  • Develop and implement a multi-year, holistic HR communication strategy aligned with Autodesk’s corporate goals, People and Places strategic intent, and team priorities
  • Hire, lead, and develop a high performing communications team, providing oversight to ensure the delivery of impactful communications strategies
  • Oversee communications execution for projects launching to the business and other messages coming from this organization
  • Be the “bar-raiser” and editor-in-chief for communications within the PPL function; oversee editorial calendars that ensure communications are consistent and coordinated

 

Executive internal communications platform and leadership communications strategy:

  • Be the personal communications lead and advisor to the Chief People Officer, leading the preparation of presentations, talk tracks and other communication materials for Autodesk internal events and PPL wide communications
  • Partner with Corporate Communication to ensure alignment and amplify the CPO and PPL brands internally and externally
  • Oversee communications strategies to engage and enable senior leadership and people managers

 

Organizational announcements, M&A integrations, and Rapid Response Comms:

  • Partner with Organizational Effectiveness, Legal and People Business Partners to craft strategic communications and divisional cascades relative to organizational restructuring, redeployments, organizational transformation and change management
  • Drive M&A integration communications with employees pre-and post-acquisition in partnership with Legal and People Consultants across different geographies
  • Be the contact and conduit within for the Crisis Management Team, Legal and Government Affairs Team to help craft communication responses to crises, emerging issues, and unexpected challenges

 

One Autodesk:

  • Collaborate with employees and senior leaders within and outside of the PPL organization to understand their communication needs and develop communication plans to support objectives
  • Proactively identify and implement new approaches and processes that enhance and streamline communications, improving communication effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce friction, and optimize the processes and technology leveraged to communicate within and beyond PPL
  • Use data and insights to guide decision making and everyday work
  • Manage budgets, resources, and external vendor relationships related to PPL communications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have 8+ years or equivalent experience in communications, preferable responsible for internal or HR communications programming
  • You have prior global communications experience and mindset
  • You have prior supervisory experience
  • You are strategic and creative, comfortable debating and defending your ideas
  • A storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives to support business strategies
  • Can influence across functions, geographies and levels, and the ability to work with multiple partners and teams to drive alignment and collaboration
  • An innovative self-starter who can achieve results both independently and in collaboration with others
  • You are passionate about empowering and growing their team members
  • Have strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a strategic mindset
  • You can effortlessly manage your workload, are flexible, proactive, work well under deadlines, and above all, have an optimistic spirit and “make it happen” attitude
