This position will provide the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the valuation control function and an oversight of the workings of one of the World’s leading investment banks. The successful candidate will benefit from ongoing expert training and development to ensure they are fully integrated and comparable with the controllers based in other global trading locations such as London, New York and Hong-Kong.

As a Valuation Control Senior Associate within the Valuation control team in Paris you will oversee and/or execute the valuation control process. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, proactive and independent candidate. In this role, you will navigate complex issues, drive impactful change and communicate with a senior audience.

You will locally report into the Head of Valuation Control Group for the European Coverage and functionally into the respective EMEA Valuation Control lead.

Job responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the valuation control process and methodology including: price verification/benchmark process, fair value adjustments, prudential valuation adjustments, fair value hierarchy
  • Assist with various VCG established practices and control initiatives as well as perform necessary work relating to management reporting, regulatory mandates and consistency within the broader VCG framework
  • Partner with various functional groups on valuation related issues and develop/implement appropriate measures with the goal of ensuring fair value
  • Enhance existing control framework including reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency
  • Other value-added projects related to Business, Risk, and Finance initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Graduate degree with finance, economics, mathematics or engineering
  • Ability to understand complex products, and analyze transaction and process flows
  • Understanding of valuation concepts as they pertain to financial products and derivatives, basic accounting knowledge
  • Analytical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Valuation Control experience
  • Prudential Valuation experience
  • Candidates with quantitative backgrounds
  • Visual Basic, automation and database skills
