Job Description

The Digital Factory Engineer is responsible for leading the development, implementation and maintenance of applications and production systems. Including servers, databases, enterprise applications, networking, software systems, both integrated and standalone vision, automation and robotics. Additionally, supporting and maintaining existing software applications that run our manufacturing facility. Must have a strong technical background, comfortable with developing and supporting complex systems and user interfaces in a manufacturing environment. The Digital Factory Engineer is a solution developer, quick learner, innovative thinker, problem solver who possesses strong troubleshooting skills.

The Digital Factory Engineer will report to the Manager of Digital Factory Engineering and interfaces with developers, administrators, engineers, project managers, upper-level managers, operation owners and end users.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead implementation, maintenance, and support of applications, databases and middleware, including installing new software releases and system upgrades.
  • Support and resolve technical production issues including; application, database, network and server problems.
  • Maintain production databases that gather and store operational data.
  • Develop full web-based industrial applications that support and enhance manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, modify, or configure moderately complex software applications.
  • Take ownership of solution development and deliverables.
  • Assist in technology adoption and change management (top floor to shop floor). Develop and deliver general instruction to users for newly installed applications or technology.
  • Clearly document delivered applications, software and projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, equivalent academic program or 5+ years of experience in developing software applications, database and networking support (preferred)
  • Software development on a variety of platforms including but not limited to MS visual studio; C#, VB.net, ASP.net, .net core
  • Web development with proven success deploying web apps
  • Experience with T-SQL, SQL server, stored procedures, database server administration and maintenance
  • Experience supporting manufacturing hardware and software at an advanced level
  • Ability to analyze complex processes and troubleshoot production issues
  • Experience with enterprise network architecture and infrastructure in an industrial environment

  • Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing factory and understand production urgency
