We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer at Amsted Seals and Forming. Born out of innovation within Amsted Rail, the Amsted’s Seals and Forming business was created to maximize and scale the disruptive spin-forming technology across high-impact applications within Amsted Industries and with external customers. Our Center of Excellence for Seals and Forming is located in Petersburg, Virginia, and shares a campus with Amsted Rail’s Brenco Bearing Business which is not only a sister company but also provides to our business a high degree of shared service support while also being a significant customer. We have additional locations in Vancouver, WA, Ningbo, China, Hebron, IL, and Chicago, IL as well as joint ventures in Phillipsburg, NJ and Jaipur, India.

Position Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for process engineering activities for equipment located within the Petersburg facility. The Process Engineer is responsible for layout, improvement and reliability of assigned equipment and production lines, driving the optimization of equipment factors for OEE. The Process Engineer will work closely with Operations and Engineering.

What you will do:

  • Act as a driver of innovation in co-operation with the Seals and Forming design and maintenance teams
  • Utilize established practices for change management, documentation, project management and continuous improvement
  • Run or participate in PFMEAs to establish and maintain stable processes with the Seals and Forming operations
  • Use collected downtime and equipment failure data to identify and eliminate sources of poor equipment efficiency
  • Assist in planning and implementing new plant equipment.
  • Work with safety and facilities to conduct and act on JSA for all Seals and Forming equipment
  • Assist operations to resolve downtime issues within the facility

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive engineering experience
  • Willingness to travel as much as 10% of the time
  • Strong understanding of excel and basic statistical analysis
  • Experience with CAD, preferably Solidworks

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with and persuade non-technical employees
