At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is an in-office position and you’ll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.

As a Senior Data Center Technician your main focus will be Data Center Engineering to make sure our infrastructure in the Data Centers conform to standards and will operate in all circumstances to service our customers in the best possible way. You will work closely with the global teams at Data Center Services and our business partners and customers to get a good understanding of their needs and translate this into designs, standards and processes implemented in the company. You understand all aspects related to Data Centers, Hardware, Network topology, critical Infrastructure and you support and build and maintain documentation regarding it.

What you’ll get to do…

  • Analyse, maintain and optimise existing IT infrastructure designs on the Data Centers and initiate improvement or optimisation project
  • Find creative ways to optimise capital and operating costs and improve current processes or simplification and efficiency increases
  • Formulate, affect, interpret, and implement policies and procedures
  • Request quotes and submit orders related to improve, optimise the IT infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business partners and third-party vendors with a focus on quality and SLA compliance against the lowest costs possible
  • Responsible for planning and driving large projects without direction from leadership

Your experience should include…

  • 5+ years experience in two or more of these areas: Systems Administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers), Networking Concepts, Data Center, Storage and/or Server Hardware Architecture, or Security Concepts
  • Advanced experience with the following concepts/methods: RAID, SAN/NAS, x86 architecture, SAS/SATA, system administration, boot process, boot loader, file systems, network device and protocol configuration, directory structure, base operating system install, Python, Bash, PowerShell or Java, Core OS services (SSH, TELNET, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP), remote management protocols (KVM, iDRAC, IPMI)
  • Experience in Project Management, service delivery, support, security management, Life Cycle Management, power, cooling and cabling concepts for Data Centers
  • Experience in managing workloads and ability to analyse and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
