The Job

France/Belgium Retention Manager is a pivotal role responsible for the development and execution of customer retention strategies for MAX across France and Belgium. This role will oversee initiatives to increase customer loyalty, reduce churn, and drive long-term customer value.

Your outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work within a team and passion for driving results will have a large impact on the success story of MAX, and will assist in increasing conversion and engagement, improving the customer lifetime value and revenue enhancement.

The ideal candidate thrives in international, dynamic and a fast-moving environment and is an experienced, bold, multi-faceted and innovative CRM & lifecycle expert with strong communication skills who thinks strategically, analytically, and creatively.

You will have a pan-regional role with a specific focus on France & Belgium and will work closely with other departments spanning Creative Services, BI, Growth Marketing, Distribution, Product Development, Programming, Customer Service and PR across Europe.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Retention Strategy Development: Craft and implement effective customer retention strategies tailored to France and Belgium markets, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Customer Lifecycle Management: Understand the entire customer journey and identify key touchpoints to enhance engagement, reduce attrition, and improve customer lifetime value.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze customer data to gain insights into behavior, preferences, and trends. Use this information to refine and adapt retention strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to align retention initiatives with broader company strategies and campaigns.
  • Performance Reporting: Regularly report on retention metrics, providing insights, recommendations, and actionable steps to senior leadership.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated with market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in the retention space, especially within France and Belgium.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment of retention objectives and feedback loops.
  • Team Leadership: If applicable, manage and mentor a team of retention specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Solid experience with CRM, lifecycle marketing, digital marketing, and multi-channel programs
  • Excellent understanding of email, push notification and In-app notifications, preferably from a B2C subscription-oriented business
  • Proven work experience with a Marketing Automation Tool (Braze or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with Excel, web analytics tools etc.
  • Skilled in digital marketing, including targeting/segmentation, A/B testing, and optimization for conversion and engagement
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results, working both strategically and tactically
  • Understanding of local-market nuances and dynamics to deliver a global strategy while also balancing local adaptions to drive local results
  • Ability to travel to other European countries
  • Fluency in English and French is a must, additional language is a plus
