The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will maintain the proper and safe functioning of Delta’s fleet, ensuring customers have an exceptional travel experience. The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician – Line Maintenance is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment and providing Safe, Ontime, reliable Aircraft for scheduled departures. 

Additionally, the Lead AMT is responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of applicable procedures and methods relating to aircraft/engine maintenance and Technical Operations, as well as applicable inspection procedures, methods and specifications. This lead position performs administrative functions delegated by the Manager – Line Maintenance.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Ensures required and scheduled maintenance is accomplished and properly documented.
  • Coordinates assigned maintenance tasks with other skills and departments to meet established ready times.
  • Evaluates workload to ensure efficient manpower utilization.
  • Supervises and assists Maintenance personnel.
  • Informs personnel of company and/or departmental policy and procedure changes.
  • Ensures personnel receive technical training and qualifications required to perform the departmental maintenance tasks.
  • Leads continuous improvement, to improve safety, achieve cost and turn time reductions.
  • Ensures recurrent training is accomplished where required. 
  • Verifies and records payroll, shift work and team overtime hours.
  • Liaise with CDG Line Maintenance customer airline representatives.
  • Oversee materials inventory and provide logistics support when needed.
  • Assists in performing employee evaluations.
  • Monitors Maintenance personnel to ensure conformance to acceptable appearance and conduct standards.
  • Assists in resolving any company or personnel problems.
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Assists Manager – Line Maintenance with satellite station monitoring and support.
  • Ensures all required daily reports are filed as well as provide excellent verbal and written handovers.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Are you eligible to live and work in France at the time of your application.
  • Must have an Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Must have a valid EU driver’s license at the time of your application.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass enhanced background check and Driving Medical.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including rotating or fixed shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to act as the working leader of a group of AMTs, plan and lay out work, instruct and supervise the work of the group, as well as be a leader in the areas of continuous improvement and safety. 
  • Must be able to read and write English and comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
  • Must also be able to work and operate in a safe and compliant manner without close supervision. 
  • Should have strong organizational skills and be able to respond to changing or multiple work demands. 
  • (If transferring internally)  Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. 
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. 

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Candidates with International Line Maintenance experience preferred.
  • TIC or LEAD experience preferred. 
  • In depth knowledge of international operations.
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate exceptional leadership, work well under pressure, act in a timely manner, and handle multiple tasks with continually changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with various computer software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP and other relevant software programs is preferred.
  • Experience with Full handling contract stations and International Station startups.
  • Experience in running or being part of International and/or cross divisional projects.
