About the role

Siemens Digital Industries Software develops software that allows our customers to better engineer their products. Large Language models (LLMs) like GPT-4 have shown the world that applications can be created with LLMs which can increase significatively the efficiency of the user. One of the most known applications is the chatbot Chat-GPT.

Our customers expect the same efficiency increase when combining LLMs with our engineering software. Different methods are offered to make the LLM understand the language engineering, like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) or fine-tuning, or to give the LLM access through the software Application Programming Interface (API) via agents.

Our product line « Simcenter » is used to virtually simulate product performance. In this internship , you work together with a team of experts in the field to develop a specific LLM based application for one of the Simcenter products.

• You learn to program with python to interface with the LLM (GPT-4 or Llama-2 or equivalent as well as with the Simcenter simulation software through its API
• You read the state of the art of using LLMs to build applications and go through the demos that have been created already within Siemens DISW
• You have the assignment to create a copilot demonstrator for a Simcenter subproduct and will compare different state of the art methods for their effectiveness
• You choose an effective method and will create a small demonstrator in combination with a Simcenter subproduct

This internship contract base in Lyon (69) and available from January 2024

Your Qualification

We would love to hear from you if you’re coming from an engineering school, willing to program in python

• You are creative
• Since you will be working with a lot of colleagues that do not speak French, it is important that you can express yourself in English
