If so we may have the perfect next role for you: Marriott International is looking for a PR Manager to look after hotels in Western Europe & Maghreb, working closely with the wider Europe, Middle East & Africa Communications (EMEA) team.

Role Summary

The PR Manager, Western Europe & Maghrebis responsible for the day to day management of the French PR Centre of Excellence (COE) supporting the hotels in French speaking markets – France, Monaco, Belgium, Switzerland and Maghreb.

The position will oversee the development and execution of the PR plans for hotels, with the goal of driving top-tier earned media/ social exposure with key French and French-speaking Belgian/Swiss/ Monaco media and influencers.

Reporting to the Area Director of Communications Western Europe & Maghreb, the position will provide Comms guidance, messaging and counsel for hotel teams and support with media opportunities for the Western Europe Area team.

This role will also collaborate and align with the Marriott EMEA Communications team (London) to ensure the pull-through of corporate and brand strategies and messaging, while positioning Marriott International and the hotels in French speaking markets hotels with top-tier media outlets and key influencers.

Our hotel brands in the region include The Luxury Collection, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Moxy Hotels and W Hotels.

The role will be based in Paris with the option of hybrid working. You will work with closely with the hotels as well as EMEA colleagues, with the opportunity to travel within the region, and in time further afield.

Skills and experience we will look for in the ideal candidate to join our team:

  • Minimum 4 years of consumer public relations, marketing communications and corporate communications experience, preferably within the travel / hospitality / lifestyle sector.
  • Hotel and/or brand experience preferred.
  • Experience and ability to manage the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing PR agencies – both in/outside of local market
  • Experience in interacting with senior leaders
  • Experience in creating campaigns/ narratives and launching new products, services or brands
  • Press trip coordination, media hosting and event management experience
  • Experience managing budgets

Education or Certification

  • University degree or equivalent in Public Relations / Communications / Marketing

Skills and Competencies

  • Fluent in French and English as a minimum – both written and verbal.
  • Strategic thinker
  • Clear communicator with solid writing and messaging skills
  • Good media contacts within market (travel, lifestyle, luxury)
  • Interest in and knowledge of current trends within travel, food and drink, hospitality industry
  • Team player and able to use initiative
  • A creative thinker with an eye for detail
  • Willingness to learn and get involved
  • High degree of personal loyalty and integrity
  • Well organised and able to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • Proficient MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Willing to travel
  • Willing to participate in training opportunities
  • Willing to host/ participate in evening and weekend media events and functions
