JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Manager will report directly to the Senior HR Manager, Europe to support the HR and wider Europe leadership teams. This individual will support in the delivery of a HR Services Model across EMEA and business strategy into human resources practices that build organizational capability to meet business goals. The focus of this role is delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of both the designated discipline business partners and HR disciplines to enable business success, ensuring compliance with legislation and Marriott International operating procedures. It will have special focus on data excellence and work closely with the HR Managers and Coordinators to provide and collaborate on delivering a consistent high standard of administration and non-administration support to the Human Resources Department and other disciplines.

  • Location equirements: The position is located at the London office.
  • Language Requirements: High proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required. Additional European languages a preference
  • Travel Requirements: There is minimal business travel required to other continent office locations including Luton, Eschborn and other required locations

CORae AE WORK ACTIVITIES

Systems & Data Analytics

  • Act as the mHub systems champion for effective data analysis and to ensure processes and best practices are used and shared with HR Partners and leaders.
  • Ensure the audit, validation and updating of associate data in mHUB, manual tools and files, and other HR systems including payroll
  • Liaise with HR Partners and COEs to ensure data excellence, providing coaching and direction as required
  • Own projects to identify, correct and re-engineer HR processes to ensure maximise technological capabilities to reduce manual processes and ensure high data accuracy
  • Prepare ad hoc and schedule reports
  • Support any mass data reviews and change projects and processes
  • Raise awareness of system concerns to relevant leaders to ensure continued progress towards data excellence
  • Partner with Middle East and Africa HR colleagues to align record keeping practices and promote data accuracy
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits on current compensation and benefits changes
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits to provide HR data analytics and monthly metrics in-line with the HR Balanced Scorecard
  • Support with embedding mHub to deliver a self-service model for all leaders and associates.
  • Provide metrics on compliance training competition rates
  • Responsibility for internal and external audits

Maintaining Associate Relations

  • Assists in maintaining effective associate communication channels in the office (e.g., develops daily communications and assists with regularly scheduled discipline-wide meetings).
  • Reviews progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency and checks for supportive documentation and is accountable for determining appropriate action.
  • Utilizes an “open door” policy to acknowledge associate problems or concerns in a timely manner
  • Daily oversight of the EMEA HR mailbox (intake/triage), including issues and escalations as requireS
  • Ensures associate issues are referred to the discipline leader for resolution or escalated to the Senior HR Manager.
  • Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
  • Assist with the administration of any employment relations isstes T o provide a sounding board for associates who may need to discuss personal issues, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with the organization of any associate events.
  • To ensure that all leavers complete an exit interview and that details are compiled to assist the retention strategy.

Administration and Payroll

  • Lead the completion and monitoring of all onboarding paperwork and personnel records
  • Ensure full compliance on all immigration and local laws for right to work in the UK
  • Assist the Senior HR Managers in processing monthly payroll and generating required reports.
  • Lead the compliance of all HR policies generated and actioned through the HR Services team.
  • Assist with any process administration and the collation of data for relevant reports.
  • Support with the administration of any payroll of HR information though Oracle
  • Preparing documents using Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
  • Files and forward traces a variety of documents, appointments etc.
  • Updates and distributes relevant information databases as required
  • Takes meeting minutes as requested.
  • Update data on the celebratory dates/Key Management Data/Contact list etc.
  • Responds to various requests for help and information.
  • Communicates with property associates to provide information and resolve challenges on behalf of those she/he reports to.
  • Coordinates and handles all related memberships and incentive enrolments and ensures they are current.
  • Overseeing payroll for certain Europe markets eg. Belgium, UK, Luxembourg

Managing Legal and Compliance Practices

  • Ensures associate files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation, are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time.
  • Ensures compliance with procedure for accessing, reviewing, and auditing associate files and ensure compliance with GDPR/Data Protection laws.
  • Ensures medical records are maintained in a separate, secure and confidential medical file.
  • Communicates office rules and regulations.
  • Ensures all safety and security policies are communicated to associates on a regular basis through orientation, office meetings, notice boards, etc.
  • Oversees the selection/non-selection and offers processes to ensure proper procedures are followed (e.g., valid reasons for selection/non- selection and applicants receive status notifications).

Leading and Monitoring Recruitment and Hiring Activity

  • Oversees/monitors candidate identification and selection process:
  • Provides subject matter expertise to discipline leaders regarding Marriott’s selection procedures.
  • Actively seeks and generate talent pools for key business areas to proactively generate talent succession within the business.
  • To ensure that all recruits have full reference checks and that these are following up if necessary.

Managing Associate Development

  • Supports an office orientation program for associates to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
  • Uses all available on the job training tools for associates; supervise on-going training initiatives and conducts training, when appropriate.
  • Ensures coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation program to generate a positive first impression for associates.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners to understand and support the career development of associates.
  • Ensures compliance on all required onboarding training and personnel records that need to be signed and held by the company.
  • To provide support with Associate Orientation, ‘Welcome’ training

Other

  • Ad-hoc project work: HR Systems/Process; Compensation & Benefits; Employment Law; Talent Acquisition & Career Development
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the business needs
  • Complies with Marriott International and policies and procedures

CANDIDATE PROFILE REQUIRED :

  • A minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience.
  • Recent experience as a Human Resources Generalist / Business Partner / Coordinator. Specifically, broad experience base in various key human resource management areas such as talent management and development, workforce planning, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, performance management and coaching and change management

  • Proven working knowledge of Human Resources, as well as relevant legal standards.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

High School certification or equivalent required;

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar required
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent preferred
