Moscow, Idaho, University of Idaho Marketing & Communications Specialist Location: Moscow Division/College: Auxiliary Services Employee Category: Classified Pay Range: $25.05 or higher depending on experience FTE: 1 Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for the University of Idaho’s Auxiliary Services. Working under the Director of Business Development, Marketing and Communications, this position will oversee and collaborate on a wide breadth of Auxiliary Services’ marketing and communications projects. Areas will include university housing, campus dining, cultural events, conferences, multiple VandalStore locations, swim center, U of I golf course, as well as transportation and parking. The Specialist assists with marketing and media coordination efforts in Auxiliaries Services multi-use facilities, supports business service efforts, tracks and optimizes marketing campaigns and advises on internal broadcast audio culty, staff, customers and community; coordinates public relations, tabling, and media activities for the Auxiliary Services department. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Writing, or related field; 4 additional years of marketing, communication, public relations, business administration or related experience (6 total) may substitute for bachelors degree. Two years of experience in marketing, communication, public relations, business administration or related field. One year of experience in event planning and production or equivalent related customer service experience. One year of experience in web or graphic design. Experience with multi-media communications systems including broadcast radio, digital television, media displays and digital projection. Experience with techniques used in advertising, media communications, social media and public relations. Proficient in using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet research. Experience in Mac OS environment. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Preferred Qualifications: Work experience that shows: Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and editing skills. Working in a collaborative, team environment. Managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent client relations skills. Ability to: Be flexible with assignments and multiple priorities. Learn new skills as the opportunities or the need arise. Past event planning experience. Experience executing marketing strategies as demonstrated in a portfolio submitted at time of application.
